Job Summary/Primary Purpose: The Program Director provides overall leadership and oversight to the North Corps Program areas to implement the vision established by the Corps Officer to provide excellence in programming and fulfill the needs of the members and community. The role is responsible to support General Manager and Corps Officers in creating and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, promotion of best practices and innovative solutions to fulfill and advance the mission of The Salvation Army (TSA). Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises program department management and coordinators. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or equivalent industry knowledge and at least 5 years of related experience. Prefer a master's degree in a related field of study. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army; Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional or ability to attain within the first 30 days of employment; National accreditations or certifications in fitness, aquatics, or other program fields Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Excellent manual dexterity. Ability to stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment. This position will require the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Much of the workday will be in a mixed environment including offices, service counters, and other program spaces. In addition, portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid (natatorium) while other locations (gymnasium) may be considered moderately loud in nature. |
