Job description

Our Lexington, KY location is seeking a DC Team Member responsible for receiving and maintaining inventory within a distribution center environment. We offer a climate-controlled, small-team environment where you rarely have to work weekends!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

Inventory

  • Maintains physical inventories and cycle counts accurately. Ensure proper stock rotation and creation of product lists to be used by supply chain. Dispose properly of obsolete inventory as directed.
  • Audit and research any issues and discrepancies regarding receiving and current stock. Notify inventory and warehouse management with shortages and inconsistencies and contribute to issue resolution.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with reporting and logging requirements as applicable.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Follow established SOP's to ensure compliance with Pharmacy regulations and 3rd party accreditations.
  • Operate equipment according to the training provided. Assist in the accurate receiving, put-away, and replenishment of products, supplies, and equipment as needed. Support product rotation.

General

  • When requested, cross trains in and trains others as a subject matter expert (SME) in the areas of general warehouse tasks, material handling, and inventory management.
  • Read shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
  • Pulls products accurately and efficiently from stock for customer orders as pick lists are printed. Ensure orders are filled with products accurately and with the earliest expiration dates first.
  • Carefully packs orders, ensuring product matches customer invoice, quantities are correct, and all proper documentation is included according to packing and shipping standards and procedures.
  • Ensure products ship in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations, which include, but are not limited to, proper labeling, packaging, and logging of all products classified as hazardous materials, including limited quantities. Ensures manifest documents are accurate and uses the most economical shipping method available.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to guidelines.
  • Assist shipping and receiving teams in unloading & loading trucks.
  • Use equipment to scan products and print labels.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.

REQUIREMENTS

  • No work experience required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prefer 6 months' work experience in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand the English language to effectively read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
  • Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment (order pickers, reach trucks, forklifts).

  • Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime hours as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
  • Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50-70 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and complete tasks that include bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • May require working in a cooler environment of 35- 46 F.
