Job SummaryResponsible for all of the same tasks as a Customer Service Representative in a high-volume call center, including providing quality service by accurately and respectfully responding to telephonic, written and electronic inquiries from employees/members, providers and clients. Inquiries include a variety of topics such as benefits, eligibility, claim status, claim disposition and so on. Requires the ability to seamlessly navigate multiple system applications/screens and administrative processes while on the phone.

Responsible for investigating and resolving escalated and/or complex inquiries, providing timely responses that are thorough, clear, and easily understood by callers and cross-functional teams, creating detailed/appropriate documentation of the resolution and action(s) taken. Also delivers ongoing training to CSRs.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum three years of insurance and/or benefits customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage customer expectations in an extremely fast paced and high demand environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service, productivity/quality driven environment
  • Robust computer skills along with reasoning and analytical aptitude to resolve issues quickly and accurately; maneuvering between multiple systems/screens while on the phone
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport to best meet customer needs
  • Excellent investigative skills with attention to detail
  • Strong proponent or organizational change with the ability to adapt quickly and motivate others toward change
  • Self-directed individual who works well with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency to effectively deal with problems in varying situations and reach resolution in a timely manner
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and resources
  • Ability to learn new/proprietary systems, to adapt to various system platforms, and to effectively use MS Excel/Word
  • Possess private, dedicated workspace free from distractions with secure, consistently reliable high-speed Internet, with the ability to hardwire via Ethernet cable

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated proficiency in translating health care-related jargon and complex processes into simple, step-by-step instructions that internal and external customers can understand
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Bilingual
