The Credit Analyst reports to the North American Credit & Collections Supervisor and is responsible for assessing customer credit risk and mitigating marginal risk to minimize bad debt and support sales growth. This role also contributes to monthly reporting and accounting for North American accounts receivable. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

Customer Risk Assessment and Mitigation (40%)

  • Assess customer credit conditions using internal experience, sales input, agency reports, and financial data.
  • Assign risk ratings and establish or recommend credit limits based on authority level.
  • Collaborate with Sales and customers to mitigate marginal risk and escalate complex cases to the Manager.
  • Complete risk assessments within established service agreements.

Order Holds for Over Limit and Aging Conditions (25%)

  • Address customer orders held due to credit limits or aging issues by coordinating with Sales, Customer Service, or customers.
  • Update credit assessments and recommend credit limit changes based on sales volume shifts.
  • Work closely with internal teams to avoid unnecessary order delays.

Escalation of Collection Issues (20%)

  • Determine next steps for collection after routine follow-up by Credit & Collections representatives.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers on delinquency resolution and future order planning.
  • Recommend or escalate complex delinquency cases to the Manager.
  • Respond to customer insolvency situations and submit required documentation to agencies or courts.

Reporting and Transaction Support (15%)

  • Execute queries and compile reports for management or audit purposes.
  • Respond to audit inquiries and support controls, reports, or transactions.
  • Provide backup support for the A/R Supervisor as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to support the Integrated Management System and comply with internal policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • College degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial credit experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and negotiation skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (1-2 trips per year).

Preferred Requirements (4-5 bullet points)

  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or B2B environment.
  • Familiarity with credit risk rating systems and financial statement analysis.
  • Prior experience supporting audit or compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and with external customers.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $63,000 - $75,000.
