JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Security Lead, is responsible for the maintenance, janitorial, and safety of the Agency, and employees when needed as well as assist with transportation using the agency vehicles. The Security Guard and Safety Officer assists the Security Lead and Chief Administrative Officer with tasks related to assessment of physical and logistic job safety.
Purpose: The primary function of security is the deterrence of criminal acts against the property, staff, clients (patients) while on property. Secondly, guards are responsible for notifying and directing emergency forces as needed for quick response. In general, security officers serve as the "eyes and ears" of property management through observation and reporting. These instructions direct all security functions on the property, and any questions related to the job assignments should be referred to Security Lead. Security Guard will sit at the security desk for prolonged periods of time and help with other cleaning or special events projects as requested by supervisor or need of the health center. Perform winter maintenance or winter safety related work, before, during and after a winter storm. Help setting up tents for outside reach out or special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coverage: Guards should not leave an assigned post unmanned, only for the reason of conducting a "walk-through" through assigned areas or in emergency situations. Scheduled relief for breaks and lunch should be communicated with Security Lead.
Security Guard: =>50% of scheduled hours
- Provides surveillance of agency property and facility.
- Monitors the cameras located at the north security desk station, conducts patrols inside and outside of the building, patrols parking lots, severe as a deterrent for criminal activity.
- Assists in maintaining a quiet and safe environment free from solicitors, unruly and/or disorderly people.
- In the case of short staffing, the Safety Officer will assist by cleaning rest rooms, examinations rooms, common hallways, waiting rooms, offices and administrative areas, physical therapy/ Gym, or any assigned area by the Security Lead or Leadership Team.
- Assist Security Lead with administrative duties such as inventory tracking, inventory management and other tasks as assigned.
- Records and documents all incidents which require assistance and/or attention and maintains accurate files.
- Maintains a current and complete inventory of equipment/furniture.
- Assists in agency equipment control.
- Preventive maintenance.
- Non-technical facility and equipment repair.
- Organization of storage areas.

Safety Officer: =<40% of scheduled hours
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Conducting Risk Assessments: Regularly assess the health center's facilities and operations to identify potential safety hazards and risks. This involves inspecting physical environments, equipment, and processes to ensure safety regulations and standards compliance. During construction or remodeling, the safety officer will inspect and oversee the physical hazards surrounding the employees of the clinic and will notify through documentation of any risk or safety issues found in routine inspections.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate any accidents, incidents, or near misses that occur within the outpatient health center. The Safety Officer is responsible for documenting these incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Additionally, they ensure that all incidents are reported to the appropriate regulatory agencies as required.
- Infection Control: Assist with infection control measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the outpatient health center. This involves implementing protocols for hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, isolation precautions, and vaccination programs.
- Environmental Safety: Ensure compliance with environmental safety regulations and standards to minimize risks associated with hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental pollutants. This may involve collaborating with environmental health specialists or regulatory agencies to address environmental safety concerns.
- Equipment Safety: Maintain oversight of equipment safety protocols to ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and inspected according to manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Safety Committee Participation: Serve as a key member of the safety committee.
- Building Physical Safety: Monitor, identify, and offer solutions to resolve or fix an issue related to the building infrastructure. Help with any inclement weather issues such as water filtration, snow removal, and temperature fluctuation related to HVAC.
- Assisting with Cultural or Special Events: Assist with the set-up of tents, chairs, tables, or any task related to the event.
- Assist with the Maintenance of the Building: Identify and fix areas that need immediate repairs, example: water leaks, drainage, and painting.
Transportation and other: = 10% of scheduled hours
- Provides transportation for patients for appointments and/or employees for agency needs.
- Build and assemble items such as furniture for employees when purchased by the agency.
- Minor maintenance and carpentry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 10- OR 30-Hour Certificate
- CPR/BLS/AED certification
- Knowledge in infection prevention and control processes and procedures
- Knowledge of facilities operations, security alarms systems, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, chemical disposal, risk assessment, maintenance, plumbing, electrical safety and HVAC system.
EDUCATION or SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent interpersonal (people) skills and ability to communicate with diverse personalities (patients, providers, other staff members and general public.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, must be able to explain health and safety processes to a wide range of people and groups.
- Sensitivity to the complex physical and mental health needs of the population served.
- Ability to assess patients, set priorities, identify, and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrates reliability and flexibility and portrays positive role model behavior.

- Knowledge and experience utilizing vehicle restraints including seatbelts, car seat requirements and wheelchair restraints (e.g., Q Straps).

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook email use and basic computer skills.

Work is performed in an office environment utilizing various office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line phone. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, by computer and in person. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment.
