Department's Website: The individual in this role works with the Humanities & Social Sciences Librarian to provide humanities and social sciences-focused library instruction and research support at a professional level. Key job responsibilities include delivering information literacy instruction to undergraduate students and creating and/or maintaining online library research guides. The Library Graduate Assistant for Humanities & Social Sciences will also contribute to efforts to cultivate a highly effective and sustainable library instruction program in the humanities and social sciences by developing learning tools, outcomes, and assessments. As a member of the University Libraries' Research and Instruction Services department, the Library Graduate Assistant for Humanities & Social Sciences will work with colleagues to provide excellent service to our patrons and contribute to department-wide responsibilities, including staffing the Libraries' online chat service, answering patron research questions, helping with special events, and participating actively in other library initiatives. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about supporting the undergraduate educational experience by empowering undergraduate researchers and will be committed to providing effective, creative, patron-focused service and teaching. Reliable, in-person attendance and the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain professional, positive relationships as part of a team.
