Summary: The Regulatory & Customer Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the organization meets all applicable regulatory requirements and customer compliance obligations. This role involves managing compliance programs, monitoring regulatory changes and liaising with customers and regulatory bodies. The specialist provides guidance and oversight to internal teams to maintain a strong compliance culture across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Create New Codes and Maintain SOI Product Master (includes in activations)
  • Product Codes: Primary Finished, Finished WIP, Marinated WIP marinade codes Raw Meat codes Batter codes Glaze (if glaze has a formula) Econo/Downgrade, Econo/Downgrade Finished WIP.
  • Create New Product Groups in SOI
  • Attaching Warehouses to new Product Groups
  • Create New Product Specs (Adding/Editing Information to Product Specification tables, approx. 32 tables)
  • Create and Maintain Labels and Label Approvals
  • Label Printing Systems (SOI, Innova, CAT
  • Label Development Programs (Bartender, Innova)
  • USDA Transmittals
  • USDA Submissions
  • Label Approval Database
  • Create and Maintain Product Nutritional's using Genesis program
  • Create and Maintain School Lunch Statements
  • Monitor USDA Updates pertaining to Export Requirements
  • Monitor USDA Updates pertaining to Product Labels
  • Monitor PCR (Product Change Request) System
  • Create PCR's
  • Track Spec Changes related to Packaging and Ingredient changes/depletions
  • Maintain Halal Product Requirements
  • Upload Customer Specs and Label Approvals into Document Imaging
  • Upload and Maintain Formax Plate Documents in Document Imaging
  • Add New Documents to and Maintain Company Ingredient Technical Data Sheet on-line folder including 3-year age limits for TDS
  • Enter Ingredient Statements and Allergens from ingredient suppliers' TDS into Spec System
  • Review Artwork for Pre-Printed Films, Cases, Labels
  • Request New Item Numbers from Purchasing for Ingredients, Label Stocks, Printed Packaging.
  • Initially Populate and Maintain Customer Product Information Systems

    • ProSpec and ProSpec Art - Walmart spec and artwork system
    • FoodLogiQ - Dine Equity (Applebee's, IHOP), Panda, CKE (Hardee's, Carl's Jr.), Dave & Buster's, and Red Lobster's document depository system
    • SPEQ - Burger King and Popeye's spec system
    • Darden spec system
    • Store Brand Source - AWG (Best Choice, Always Save) spec and artwork review system
    • TraceOne - UNFI (SuperValu) spec and artwork review system
    • AQA - Church's and Cracker Barrel spec system
    • TraceGains - Ben E. Keith, Schnuck, Springfield Grocer Co dba SGC, Stampede Meat, Topco, URM document depository system
    • Repositrak - Affiliated Foods, Meijer document depository system
    • Share-ify - PFG document depository system
    • Sysco
    • Dairy Queen/IDQ spec systemAnswer Customer Questions related to Allergens, Ingredients, Cooking/Heating, etc.


  • Source Missing Information Required to Create Specs - producing plant, source of raw material, bag weights, bag counts, box, label, case weight, etc.
  • Publish Product Data to the GDSN
  • Troubleshoot Label Printing Problems - work with various departments



Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises and/or supports regulatory, R&D and regulatory technicians and managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Foods sci; 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, customer compliance, or a similar role.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Nutritional calculations and product formulas.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license and be able to qualify for the company's driving program.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and email applications. SAP, CAT2 SOI Label system and Genesis.
