Position Summary

The Visiting Administrative Fellows will complete projects including research, proposal development and implementation planning. The fellows work in collaboration with executives, senior leaders, and both clinical and non-clinical team members across the enterprise for ongoing and emerging initiatives that are of top priority, high impact, and aligned with UIHs strategic imperatives. The Fellows will be immersed in a variety of opportunities, acting as project managers and leads tasked with planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating a particular project to ensure its success. Administrative Fellows will have the opportunity to explore areas of interest, engage with a variety of leaders, and gain exposure to executive level meetings. In addition to project related responsibilities, fellows will be tasked with weekly and monthly administrative and operational responsibilities with the support of executive leadership

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Administrative Fellow will develop and implement policies and long-term plans within the assigned area of responsibility in the Hospital & Clinics. The administrative fellow will act as a primary project manager or co-lead, tasked with planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the efficacy of projects and initiatives to ensure achievement of outlined goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and evaluate project plans that align with institutional goals.
  • Participate in regular meetings with executive leadership and department heads to gain insight into hospital governance, operations, and strategy.
  • Conduct data analysis and research to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives within multiple care settings.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and recommend evidence-based solutions.
  • Support high-priority strategic and operational projects across departments, including clinical operations, ambulatory services, finance, and human resources.
  • In addition to developing and revising them to align with best-practice standards, serve in management roles such as Interim Strategic Project Manager or other interim roles based on institutional need.
  • Analyze and implement efforts to improve patient service in all care settings.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for unit including pre-admission, evaluation, admission, discharge, and post-discharge follow-up.
  • Assist the entire C-Suite Office (e.g. CEO, COO, CMO, and CNO) and other senior leaders in generating meeting content, determining agendas, and facilitating follow-ups for weekly senior leader meetings and monthly leadership meetings. Recommend program modifications or new programs to improve utilization and quality of care and implement program changes upon approval.
  • Provide administrative assistance to respective leaders and evaluate ongoing operations.
  • Plan, assign and review work of staff within assigned unit to ensure that group objectives are met.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Engage in professional development activities and mentorship to build competencies in healthcare leadership and administration.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related accredited, Health Administration Program required.
    Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years previous healthcare related experience preferred.
