Job Summary:
The Director of Internal Football Relations/Assistant to the Head Coach reports directly to the Head Football Coach. This position will be responsible for overseeing the day to day communications and collaboration between all support areas that directly impact on the field student-athlete performance; including but not limited to: the positional coaching staff, sports medicine, sports performance, performance nutrition, sports psychology, and equipment. The Director of Internal Football Relations will work hand in hand with the Head Coach on staffing on field coaching positions and will assist with the overall administration and communication of the Northwestern Football program. o. The Director of Internal Football Relations/Assistant to the Head Coach is a contracted position that will hold a leadership role with the NU Football program.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Serve as the liaison between the Head Coach and the following areas as they relate to On-Field Football Performance: Equipment, Mental Performance (Sports Psychology), Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training, Nutrition and assistant Coaches.
- Oversee the performance evaluation process, staff development, and retention plans for the assistant coaching staff.
- Create and coordinate staff meeting itineraries across multiple department schedules.
- Manage and update media schedules and appearances for Head Coach and coaching staff.
- In conjunction with the Administrative Assistant, oversee the Head Coach schedule.
- Track and analyze student-athlete and program needs by identifying trends that impact overall performance.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents of current student-athletes, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns as appropriate and applicable
- Adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
- Adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Significant experience in high school, college or professional football
- Previous management experience
- Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
- Ability to establish engaging, impactful and authentic relationships within and across the internal and external stakeholders of the NU department of athletics and Football program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $125,000 to $150,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
