Documentation Specialist: To act in a consulting role to banking centers regarding the acceptance and application of external documentation presented to the bank for use in opening accounts or to support complex transactions in each of Comerica's markets nationwide. In addition, to assist banking centers and retail departments with questions regarding bank policies and regulatory/compliance requirements that the legal documentation must support. To analyze and solve problems requiring immediate responses to the banking centers to best service their customers. Duties and Responsibilities: Documentation Support/Legal Support
- Validate the acceptability of documentation required to support account openings or unique transactions.
- Consult with Corporate Legal to formulate recommendations on the handling documentation related to high-risk exception transactions.
- Engage Corporate Legal for involvement when necessary and be conversant in both the legal nature of the documentation, but more importantly how it relates to and integrates with bank policy, CIP and/or other regulatory requirements.
Platform Support
- Provide subject matter expertise and recommended solutions to banking center unique support needs not resolved at the first level.
- The knowledge and understanding of how to apply the use of the legal documents as they pertain to retail banking transactions goes well beyond the basic procedure knowledge regarding their usage and requires the ability to make decisions that will mitigate risk and potential losses to the bank through appropriate application.
Department Liaison Support
- Provide assistance and support to multiple areas of the corporation including: Retail Bank, Commercial Bank, Wealth, C3, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Fraud.
Special Project Support
- Provide guidance and input as requested for projects.
- Perform additional job responsibilities as requested (large wire transfers, safe deposit projects, BC opening or closing functions).
Dimension and Scope Data:
- Support approximately 445 Banking Centers nationwide.
- Review of 300 -500 legal documents monthly.
- Answer average of 900 calls per month.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree from accredited university OR 2 years of relevant experience
- 1 year of Legal/Paralegal documentation experience OR 3 years of RSC platform support OR 5 years of Banking Center platform experience
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
