 The Human Resources Generalist supports the HR team and the Vice President of Human Resources in the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting the agency's strategic goals. The HR Generalist must maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate expertise across all HR functions.
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
     
 Serve as a subject matter expert across core HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, benefits, and training.Support the VP of HR in managing employee relations, including investigations, documentation, and resolution.Support Agency programs with departmental training needs.Act as a liaison between employees and leadership, providing guidance on HR policies and resolving personnel issues.Provide policy interpretation and ensure consistent application across departments.Assist V.P. of Human Resources with Policy changes/updates.Stay current on labor laws and regulatory changes, particularly those related to OMH and OPWDD.Conduct HR audits as assigned.Process transfers/promotions and maintain personnel files Process terminations, status changes, and rate increases as necessary. Demonstrate positive work attitudes and habits as a role model for employees.Ensure that staff are assigned to all appropriate state, federal, and regulatory training.Assist the Benefits and Leave Coordinator with open enrollment, vendor coordination, leave paperwork/claims, and employee communications.Assist with compliance reporting and audits, including OSHA, Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1, and other federal/state requirements.Assist Benefits and Leave Coordinator with Employee Anniversary milestone rate increases and gift. Maintain accurate personnel records, including promotions, transfers, and compensation changes.Conduct Paycom audits in collaboration with Benefits and Leave Coordinator.Uphold a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism in all HR activities.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:  REQUIRED: 
 
     
 Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.3+ years of progressive HR generalist experience.Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.High level of discretion and confidentiality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.Experience with employee relations and performance.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.Knowledge of federal and state labor laws; familiarity with OMH and OPWDD regulations is a plus.
