CDL Training Manager
Salary range: Min-$66,126 to Max-$85,964
Typical Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flexibility to stay some nights to interact with night students.

- Providing leadership for the CDL Program, including providing daily operational oversight of all our CDL classes, facilities, equipment maintenance, equipment specification/compliance, curriculum, and faculty.
- Providing subject matter expertise and actively participating in curriculum development, revision and implementation processes.
- Being responsible for assuring timely and accurate data entry into the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) Driver Education and Training System (DETS).
Some of the additional duties the CDL Training Manager will perform include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in hiring, assigning, orienting, developing, and assisting/supporting instructors as needed.
- ODPS instructor annual assessments.
- Scheduling student testing with third-party assessors.
- Monitoring and maintaining instructor eligibility.
- Acting as a liaison between the State and CDL personnel.
- Monitoring and supporting the overall budget of the CDL operation as well as all documentation and audits for ODPS.
- Initial training of new instructor candidates.
To be Considered, You'll Need:
- A valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- A valid Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) CDL Training Manager's license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of CDL driver training experience
- One year of full-time equivalent experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment or equivalent
- Three years of full-time equivalent commercial driving industry experience
- Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of federal/state government education CDL regulations
