Department Profile Inland Transportation This group is responsible for the successful operation of transportation in the L48, by securing rates, maintaining pools, coordinating transportation operations with the terminal and other departments within TOTE, as well as managing cost and benchmarking carrier performance. POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary) This position is responsible for ensuring customer demands and needs are met while maximizing the utilization of TOTE-owned equipment and minimizing the use of lease equipment to increase turn times. Essential Job Responsibilities AND Results
- Compile and summarize data for various reports from automated systems, databases and spreadsheets.
- Coordinate and arrange transportation with third party carriers. To include scheduling equipment (TOTE owned and leased) to meet customer demands and needs
- Notifications, transportation, and scheduling needs of southbound bookings
- Tracking and tracing of TOTE equipment / Reconcile satellite yard/customer inventories
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Resolve customer and vendor issues
- Build positive, collaborative relationships through open and interactive communication
- Identify process improvements during daily tasks, and work with assigned team to improve and document procedures.
- To learn all job functions within the department and for providing coverage within the group
- Effectively perform additional tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
- Associate degree preferred.
- Four years' experience in the transportation industry preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Most work requires normal physical effort. MANUAL DEXTERITY Requires moderate use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents. The salary range is $38,300-67, 200 with a targeted compensation of $50,000-52,000.. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.
