Position Description and Purpose:

Under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain, the Inventory Control Supervisor has responsibility for maintaining accurate accounting of inventory across all sites and supervises a team of direct reports. This position is a key member of the fast-paced warehouse facilities where we store, transfer and manage inventory on raw materials and packaging components in the food manufacturing industry. This position will be in charge of overseeing the input and output of materials and making sure that all inventory is accurate and correct.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads, guides, and trains staff on performing related work.
  • Supervises direct team members across multiple sites on inventory cycle counts, reconciliations, and root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize best inventory management practices.
  • Understands how an ERP system works, along with associated tools (i.e. scan guns).
  • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels: processes reconciliation and inventory adjustment requests, tracks and investigates inventory discrepancies.
  • Performs physical count of inventory and reconciles actual stock count to ERP generated reports.
  • Compiles metrics for inventory accuracy and cycle counts while maintaining proper inventory records.
  • Communicates with appropriate teams on all inventory related aspects.
  • Responsible for proper records on inventory adjustments via cycle counts, movement journals or transfer journals including product disposals.
  • Leads Inventory Management such as re-labeling locations, trailers, and dock doors.
  • Helps to continually improve upon inventory goals established.
  • Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry.
  • Occasionally operate a forklift in the performance of their duties.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned in a warehouse setting.

  • Detail driven and a self-starter - Comfortable working in a factory environment.
  • Computer and Math Skills - Must be proficient in Excel and be able to navigate Microsoft Dynamics AX. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to effectively communicate with employees. Ability to speak and write English (bilingual in Spanish preferred by not required).

Occasionally work weekends as customer demands rise. Works extended hours to accomplish duties and responsibilities of a supervisor.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat or cold, and occasionally to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 - 5 years of work experience in inventory control; or 6 years of related experience and/or training.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be computer literate, Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and data entry skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing, inventory control and material movement in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Prior experience in ERP, experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or SAP is a plus.

Compensation Range- $ 76,261-$88,000
