Job Summary

Delivers inter-office mail and light packages to and from the schools and various Central Office Buildings. Assist with mailroom and office needs and inventory control needs periodically as needed and directed by the Mailroom Logistics Technician II.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Current, valid Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) with Air brakes required.
  • Minimum of 6 months previous experience driving a vehicle for work purposes required.
Responsibilities

  • Operates a truck for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) to deliver mail, small packages or special deliveries among the school buildings, central office, facilities; or to district business partners.
  • Provides coverage for absences and assist in meeting workload needs for the Division of Mailroom Services, such as running postage meter machines or sorting/slotting mail for departments; inventory and material storage needs.
  • Provides coverage, as necessary for material handlers.
  • Provides courier services for MPS to City Hall and the U.S. Post Office.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
