In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Location: Malven, PA Shift: 4am - 11am (Sunday - Thursday) Training schedule: 11p to 7am Sunday - Thursday (3 -6 months) Hourly Rate: $21.00 + 15% shift differential ($3.15/hr.) = $24.15/hr. What we're looking for
Education: High School Diploma or GED required Experience: Candidates should have a background in mechanics or a related field Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills are necessary. 3-4 years of work experience in a scientific environment preferable. Experience working to IATA/ADR/IMDG preferable. Excellent attention to detail. Able to partner with other teams and suppliers and deliver results in a matrix environment, managing multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders. Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively. Proficient in data capture, analysis and reporting utilizing various IT systems. Knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Standards.
How you will thrive and create an impact Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will: Equipment and Calibration
Calibrate lab equipment like pH meters and ensure everything works correctly. Record calibration work and collaborate with teammates to double-check results. Open work orders and tag equipment that can't be used until fixed. Maintain water baths by draining, cleaning, and refilling them.
Safety and Compliance
Follow all safety rules and wear required protective gear. Keep documents up to date for compliance and training. Help prepare for inspections and assist auditors during visits. Report any issues or deviations from standard procedures.
Sample and Shipping Management
Handle receiving, packing, and shipping of research samples (including hazardous or sensitive materials). Make sure all shipments follow legal and safety rules. Keep shipping documents accurate and complete. Monitor special materials that need specific storage or handling.
Inventory and Supplies
Support lab staff with inventory and sample dispatch issues. Check stock regularly and keep inventory records accurate. Solve inventory system problems and improve tracking processes. Work with suppliers, government agencies, and others to resolve delivery issues.
Performance and Improvement
Track and report weekly tasks, metrics, and service levels. Look for ways to improve processes using data and reports.
