Job Description

Overview of the Position:

The Materials Lead will lead and direct a team of employees as assigned to accomplish receiving and shipping processes in accordance with established procedures, performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. The Materials Lead has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform and document issuance of materials, parts, units and consumables per established quality procedures.
  • Identify, control and document non-conforming materials per established quality procedures.
  • Ensure the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components per established quality procedures.
  • Lead, and Successfully Complete, the Annual Inventory Requirement through Daily, RF Cycle Counts.
  • Administer, and Control, WIP Units to Production, as needed and maintain the order and proper storage of all aircraft material.
  • Ensure all current and new employees are trained in all appropriate procedures and processes required to complete work assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Oversee, maintain, and process in a timely manner, receipts of material in stockroom and issuances to work orders, to include shelf-life program.
  • Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move parts to proper locations. Load and unload trucks as necessary.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with your employees, peers and managers at all times.
  • Develop and/or maintain routine reports that document and track the effectiveness of processes and personnel.
  • Maintain the material department and the premises of the repair station in a safe, clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned and must be available for overtime to meet departmental demands.



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Must be a certified Forklift driver
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Technical Ability - Minimum of 2 years' experience. Be proficient in Quantum, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; is able to multi-task and be able to change priorities as required by customer driven demands.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years of related experience or some combination of education and experience is possible depending on experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret federal regulations, customer, engineering drawings, manufacturer's maintenance manuals and sketches as required. Additional documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals as required. The ability to utilize inspection type measuring tools.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 75 pounds.
