HOK is seeking a highly organized and creatively driven professional to join our team as a Design Professional. This role blends architectural expertise with project coordination responsibilities, ensuring both technical excellence and smooth project execution. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external consultants and clients, contributing to both the creative process and the operational heartbeat of impactful architectural work at HOK.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination



  • Performs construction administration duties for project teams to include logging, tracking, and distributing RFIs and submittals to consultants





  • Track project progress and reporting under the guidance of the Project Manager





  • Manage filing systems (digital and paper); facilitate document transfers with consultants and clients





  • Coordinate project meetings and assist in invoicing processes and fee splits





  • Monitor the execution of consultant agreements





  • Maintain documentation for audits and agency reporting requirements





  • Prepare meeting minutes and client communications; assist with internal office management duties when on job sites





  • Collaborates with various staff and departments in administrating day to day projects and reporting requirements.





  • Provides project support by composing correspondence, proposals and agreements, project progress reports and invoices, performs data entry and maintains project files





  • Serves as a contact for transfer of files, documents, drawings with external consultants and clients; manages distribution of these to the team





  • Will assist with tracking the process for obtaining fully executed consultant agreements. May require processing comments from the project manager and consultants and obtaining comments from corporate legal department before final sign-off.





  • Drafts letters to clients. Performs word processing and data entry, as required.





  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.



BIM Support



  • Prepare and modify architectural drawings, elevations, sections, and details using BIM tools, particularly in Revit





  • Develop solutions while maintaining standards and design intent





  • Create 2D/3D presentation materials and client review models





  • Assist with construction administration documentation



Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required





  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in architecture and/or project coordination





  • LEED Accreditation or Green Associate preferred



Skills & Competencies



  • Familiar in Revit and AutoCAD, proficient in MS Office





  • Preferred experience with SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Affinity Suite





  • Strong verbal and written communication skills





  • Ability to manage confidential information with care and precision





  • Excellent time management and collaboration skills





  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities



Other Requirements



  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required





  • Must be committed to sustainability and client service excellence





  • Flexibility to take on site-based office management responsibilities when needed



Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. The reasonably estimated annual salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $60,000 to $70,000.
