Molex is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the leading optical component and module R&D teams. In this role, the successful candidate will be part of a world-class engineering team contributing to the development of the next generation coherent and PAM4 optical transceivers. The successful candidate will perform tasks such as purchasing, lab maintenance, module rework, and routine optical/electrical testing under the direction of engineering staff.

What You Will Do

  • Purchase equipment, consumable materials, etc.
  • Manage the R&D laboratory to ensure it's in good running order
  • Maintain inventory control of equipment, components and tools
  • Manage the lab network (PC & Equipment) with IT team
  • Operate and maintain the equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Support the development and testing of new and existing transceiver products to meet customer expectations
  • Perform inspection, rework, and test of optical transceiver products under the direction of the R&D engineers
  • Perform shipping process (vendors/customers/purchase)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Diploma/Certificate or associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab
  • Experience understanding basic electrical principles
  • Self-starter, organized with an interest in learning
  • Ability to follow instructions, handle delicate parts and equipment
  • Experience working with MS office for documentation
  • Experience communicating effectively with cross functional teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prefer laboratory experience or equivalent experience working with optical transceivers or optical communication systems


For this role, we anticipate paying $35.00 - $45.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
