Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Operational Technology Application Engineer to join our staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing EMS databases and displays using OSI Monarch. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and efficiency of EMS applications that support real-time grid operations.


Responsibilities

  1. Database Development and Maintenance:
    • Design, configure, and maintain EMS databases using OSI Monarch.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of real-time data within the EMS database.
    • Perform database updates, including model changes, topology updates, and data integration.
  1. Display Development:
    • Develop and customize graphical user interface (GUI) displays for real-time grid monitoring and control.
    • Ensure displays are user-friendly, visually intuitive, and meet operational requirements.
    • Collaborate with operators and stakeholders to gather feedback and improve display functionality.
  1. System Integration and Testing:
    • Integrate EMS applications with other systems, such as SCADA, DMS, and third-party tools.
    • Conduct rigorous testing of database and display updates to ensure system reliability and performance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EMS applications.
  1. Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with system operators, engineers, and IT teams to understand operational needs and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Provide technical support for EMS applications, including on-call support as needed.
    • Document processes, configurations, and updates for future reference.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

  • 0-3 years of experience in EMS, SCADA, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with OSI Monarch or similar EMS platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience with database management, GUI development, or real-time systems is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to TRC client locations up to 25%

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in OSI Monarch or similar EMS tools.
  • Knowledge of power systems, grid operations, and energy management concepts.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, or C++ is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and protocols (e.g., ICCP, DNP3, Modbus).
  • Experience with power system modeling and analysis tools.
  • Understanding of NERC CIP compliance requirements.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $66,019.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
