Your Role on the Team

Assist the Associate Director of Sports Medicine in the administration of the sports medicine and athletic training programs. Responsible, under the direction of the Associate Director of Sports Medicine and/or Team Physician, for the care, prevention, treatment/management, and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries and illnesses of the student-athletes. Provide additional coverage of events, teams and individuals using the intercollegiate athletic facilities, as assigned.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced athletic training professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Computer skills in programs relevant to job duties.
  • Thorough skills associated with athletic injury prevention and the administration of therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques, as well as of first-aid, athletic equipment, and injury assessment and treatment.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters involving athletic injuries and treatments.
  • For positions associated with Sports Medicine, must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times, avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
  • Strong ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with others, including athletes, team physicians, faculty, staff and others in the athletic department.
  • Strong skills necessary to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and complete assignments within required timelines.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group.
  • Strong manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area.
  • Professional certification required.

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
  • Knowledge of procurement function and campus budget requirements relating to athletic equipment and supplies.
  • 1-3 years working in a NCAA Division I program

Special Conditions:

  • Must work nights, weekends and holidays

Total Compensation

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $74,880.00- $75,000.00 (Annual).
