Auria is looking to hire a
Software Engineer to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This role is ONSITE in Huntsville, AL.
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. This program is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for one of the Regional Applications teams in Huntsville (Battle Management, System-Arch, or Track Server). With minimal supervision, will provide specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related fields, application impacts, and customer areas.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
- Perform in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
- Maintain currency, debugs, and configures related software products
- Work from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
- Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
- Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the operating system
- Design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation
- Work on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

- Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance
- 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
- or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience,
- or a PhD and 1 years of experience,
- or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start
- Software engineering and development experience with strong Java/J2EE or other object-oriented programming skills
- Must possess experience and knowledge of software development practices, including:
- Coding standards
- Automated testing
- Automated build pipelines
- Configuration management
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
- Problem-solving skills, including analyzing performance and operational issues, identifying root causes, and recommending, designing, and implementing solutions
- Use of widely used software development and management tools such as:
- Maven
- git/GitHub
- Nexus
- Eclipse
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies
- Understanding standard system engineering design artifacts like Use Cases and SysML diagrams
- Proficient in MS Office products
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience in developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also preferred)
- Development of command and control system applications
- Experience in Software Integration and Formal Testing
- Knowledge and experience in implementing Cyber Security/RMF requirements
- Ability to explain advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders
- Experience in performance modeling
- Experience with microservices
- Experience with DevSecOps and/or build management
- Willingness to accept unexpected tasks
- The successful candidate will be able to work independently and will have the poise and flexibility needed to thrive in a highly dynamic environment
Salary Range: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $105,000 - $115,000
