Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under general supervision, performs and is responsible for clerical and coordinating functions of a specialized unit. This may include the responsibility for operation and instruction in the use of specialized equipment such as computers, word processors, audio- visual, etc.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Maintains up to date records of the work of the unit.
  • Compiles data and processes records of activities such as personnel forms, orders, requisitions, sales, and registration requests.
  • Disseminates information, answers inquiries, resolves problems, or refers to appropriate administrative offices.
  • Acts as liaison between the unit and other administrative offices.
  • Establishes schedules for the users of the unit and/or for the facility itself.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent plus three years related clerical experience involving organizing, coordinating, scheduling and/or record keeping responsibilities.
  • A combination of college level study, advanced secretarial training, and/or related clerical experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
