We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Technician to join our team at Bayer's Chesterfield, Missouri facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated control systems that support our manufacturing and research operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot industrial control systems including PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and related instrumentation
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with control hardware, software, and communication networks
  • Perform preventative maintenance on control equipment to ensure optimal operation
  • Configure and program control systems to meet production requirements
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals
  • Document all maintenance activities, modifications, and system configurations
  • Support validation activities for control systems in compliance with industry regulations
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to improve system reliability
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in on-call rotation as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Automation, Instrumentation, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience working with industrial control systems
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or similar platforms)
  • Experience with SCADA systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial networks
  • Knowledge of instrumentation principles and calibration techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Capable of working in various environments including manufacturing floors, mechanical rooms, and laboratory settings
  • May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to wear required PPE as needed for specific work environments
