Job Description

The Wire Services Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding and facilitating the daily flow of funds for FHLBank. This position is responsible for processing electronic funds transfers and making sound judgments in risk assessment and exception handling; performing daily activities for the Wire Services department, as well as the Capital Markets and Collateral and Security Operations departments, all while providing a high level of professional, knowledgeable and friendly customer service to our members; and performing a variety of processes in a fast-paced environment, including member account maintenance, administration and generation of PIN credential program, monitoring, calculating and advising of intraday cash positions, approving high-risk member security transactions and tracking member paydowns and maturities for fee assessment decisions. The selected individual must be able to update and adhere to department procedures, decipher various forms and agreements to take appropriate action and apply technical knowledge to solve support problems related to the Bank's systems and transactions, as well as generate monthly reports and data analysis for senior leadership.

Qualifications
  • One to three years of similar or related experience.

  • Equivalent to a high school education.

  • Six hours of college accounting or finance preferred.

  • Knowledge and proficient use of MS Office products including Word, Access and Excel.

  • Banking, securities and customer relations background helpful.

  • Knowledge of the Federal Reserve Fedwire and ACH system preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to listen to information over the phone and key data accurately and efficiently.

  • Must be capable of operating all types of general office equipment including computer, copy machine, and telephone.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
