JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Watch Team Analyst - Team 3

Shift Schedule: 0600 - 1800, Thursday - Saturday, and every other Wednesday

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will serve as a lead analyst, providing critical situational awareness and oversight on behalf of our DoD customer. This role involves assisting in prioritizing and aligning resources to best support the customer's mission. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for providing 24/7/365 real-time analysis of events and incidents as they occur on the network and will also serve as a consultant to the lead analyst.

The candidate may also be called upon to serve as an action officer and should possess knowledge of IT business processes. Responsibilities include utilizing Event Management Tools, BMC Remedy, and SharePoint, as well as supporting incident response for networking, servers, and applications. The candidate will be expected to create daily turnover log entries in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Clearance Eligibility: Active DoD - Top Secret

Salary: The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor, detect, and take immediate action on events and incidents as they occur on the network based on operating procedures.
  • Identify problems and take appropriate actions based on operating procedures.
  • Create formal reports and assign work requests to the proper group based on operating procedures.
  • Collect and analyze events and incidents from multiple sources and correlate information between IT management tools based on operating procedures.
  • Advise the customer lead on the best business processes to achieve desired results in alignment with operating procedures.
  • Assist in creating and distributing on-demand situation reports as needed.
  • Manage, track, and file all information that the customer receives and produces.
  • Document all actions taken to resolve incidents on the Enterprise network.
  • Organize all customer data based on team procedures.
  • Files information efficiently to support timely, informed decision-making by the customer.
  • Provide Watch Team reports as needed.
  • Provide executive-level Watch Team briefings on behalf of the customer.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • 3 years of related experience
  • DoD 8570 IAM I (CAP, GSLC, Security+ CE, etc.)

Background and Experience:

At least 3 years of demonstrated experience working on operations staff, assisting the Watch Team Lead in gathering information, tracking incidents, and assisting with reports as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible.
  • Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
  • Occasional movement of small articles up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Continually operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Occasionally required to move oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Continually required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
