Temporary Manager - Data, Analytics, and Reporting Audit

RSM is seeking an experienced Temporary Manager to join our Data Group Audit team, supporting a large global bank. This audit-focused role leads reviews and validations of consent orders and issue remediation efforts related to data management systems, analytics platforms, and reporting applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in Third Line of Defense internal audit, combined with strong technical knowledge, to assess and test data-related controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute internal audits of data management systems, data processing solutions, and data consumption processes, evaluating their effectiveness and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory expectations.

  • Plan and perform Third Line of Defense audits, including risk assessment, testing, documentation, and reporting in line with internal audit methodologies.

  • Audit and assess SQL statements, Python code, and reporting/analytics workflows for accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance.

  • Evaluate Database Management Systems (DBMS) and data governance processes in the context of internal controls.

  • Audit reporting and analytics platforms (e.g., Alteryx), focusing on data creation, cubes, reporting outputs, and ad hoc analytics.

  • Assess access controls, data protection measures, and data security to safeguard sensitive and regulated information.

  • Examine and document data lineage and flow across systems to ensure integrity and transparency of reporting processes.

  • Perform technical testing of bank-developed controls and validate remediation of identified issues.

  • Deliver clear, high-quality audit reports and recommendations consistent with the bank's standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of internal audit experience, specifically in Third Line of Defense roles at complex financial institutions.

  • Proven ability to design and execute audits of data systems, reporting platforms, and analytics tools, including control testing and issue validation.

  • Advanced technical skills in Python, SQL, and analytics platforms such as Alteryx, with the ability to evaluate technical solutions in support of audit objectives.

  • Strong experience conducting audits related to consent order remediation and issue validation (preferred).

  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in data management and reporting technologies used by global banks.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality audit documentation and reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain independence and objectivity while adhering to rigorous internal audit methodologies.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $60 - $90 per hour
