We are seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical and programmatic support to the Development Integrated Product Team (IPT) within PMA-261, the program office responsible for the lifecycle management of the CH-53E and CH-53K aircraft. The engineer will play a critical role in advancing the development and integration of complex subsystems in support of the CH-53K platform, including software, avionics, propulsion, airframe, and mission systems. Primarily office-based with occasional travel to operational sites or industry partner locations. May include shipboard or hangar visits in support of fielded fleet systems.

Duties:




  • Serve as a technical advisor and systems engineering subject matter expert to the Mission Systems IPT Lead.



  • Develop and review system specifications, interface control documents, and system/subsystem architectures.



  • Oversee system integration efforts, ensuring alignment with platform-level requirements and schedules.



  • Lead or support system-level trade studies and risk analyses.



  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the program office, NAVAIR engineering departments (AIR-4.0), vendors, and fleet users.



  • Manage the requirements baseline and conduct technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).



  • Support systems verification and validation (V&V) planning, including development of test plans and evaluation criteria.



  • Track mission systems software development, integration, and airworthiness certification efforts.



  • Participate in the Configuration Management and Change Control Boards.



  • Support development of acquisition documentation including SOWs, CDRLs, and specifications.




Required Experience:




  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or technical program support within the defense or aerospace sector.


  • Familiarity with avionics and mission system integration, MIL-STD interfaces, and DoD systems engineering processes.
  • Experience working in a team environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).



Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.


Desired Qualifications:



  • May require a master's degree

  • INCOSE certification or DAWIA Systems Engineering Level II/III certification.



  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., MagicDraw, Cameo).



  • Familiarity with the CH-53K platform, NAVAIR policies, and mission system capabilities such as Link-16, TACAN, IFF, or EW systems.



  • Experience supporting flight test or lab integration activities.




Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $77,57.36-$155,142.72 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
