We are currently seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to provide direct engineering and technical support to the Power/Propulsion Integrated Product Team (IPT) within the CH-53K Heavy Lift Helicopter Program. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical liaison across engineering disciplines, OEMs, and government stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective development, integration, testing, and sustainment of propulsion and power generation systems.

Duties:




  • Serve as the technical point of contact for Power/Propulsion IPT activities related to engines, auxiliary power units (APUs), transmission systems, and onboard power generation and distribution.



  • Support system-level integration efforts, including requirements development, verification/validation, interface management, and performance assessment.



  • Participate in design reviews, engineering change proposals (ECPs), failure investigations, and root cause/corrective action processes related to propulsion and power systems.



  • Coordinate across IPTs and stakeholders to ensure alignment of propulsion system development with overall aircraft system design and performance goals.



  • Support risk management activities, including identification, tracking, and mitigation of technical risks.



  • Assist in the development and review of technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and reports.



  • Support logistics and sustainment planning for power/propulsion systems including reliability, maintainability, and supportability analysis.



  • Interface with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), NAVSEA, NAVAIR competencies, and fleet representatives.



  • Contribute to Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) reviews and help monitor progress of power/propulsion efforts.




Required Experience:




  • 5+ years of experience in aviation/aerospace systems engineering, with a focus on propulsion or power systems.



  • Working knowledge of turbine engines, transmissions, generators, or aircraft electrical systems.



  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.



  • Experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements management and verification planning.



  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and NAVAIR systems desirable.



  • Proficient in tools such as DOORS, JIRA, or other systems engineering management platforms.




Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.


Desired Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in a technical field or Systems Engineering.



  • DAWIA certification in Systems Engineering or equivalent (Level II or higher).



  • Experience supporting Navy/USMC rotary-wing aircraft programs.



  • Familiarity with CH-53K or other heavy-lift rotorcraft platforms.



  • Understanding of MIL-STD and NATO standards related to aircraft propulsion/power.




Travel:

Occasional travel may be required (up to 10-15%) to OEM facilities, testing sites, or fleet locations.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $77,571.36-$155,142.72 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
