We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer who will provide direct engineering support to the Air Vehicle Integrated Product Team (IPT) within PMA-261, which manages the lifecycle support for the CH-53 heavy lift helicopter platforms, including the CH-53K King Stallion. The engineer will assist with the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of airframe, propulsion, and mechanical systems in accordance with NAVAIR systems engineering processes.

Duties:




  • Support systems engineering activities for the CH-53K and legacy platforms (CH-53E/CH-53D as applicable), focusing on airframe and propulsion subsystems.



  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and documentation of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs) such as SRR, PDR, and CDR.



  • Interface with OEMs (e.g., Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin), subcontractors, and NAVAIR competency leads to ensure technical requirements are met.



  • Participate in failure investigations, root cause/corrective action analyses, and engineering change proposal (ECP) evaluations.



  • Perform risk management, requirements verification and validation, and trade studies to support design decisions.



  • Develop and update technical documentation, including specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system design descriptions, and engineering plans.



  • Support air vehicle integration of propulsion, drivetrain, fuel systems, structures, flight controls, and airframe-mounted equipment.



  • Coordinate with logistics, test, safety, and configuration/data management teams to ensure air vehicle design and supportability objectives are achieved.




Required Experience:




  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in rotary-wing or military aviation programs.



  • Familiarity with DoD/NAVAIR acquisition processes, systems engineering frameworks (e.g., MIL-STD-499, SECNAVINST 5000 series), and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).



  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative IPT environment.




Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or related technical field).


Desired Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience supporting PMA-261, CH-53 platform, or heavy-lift rotorcraft development/sustainment.



  • Working knowledge of tools such as DOORS, JIRA, Windchill, or similar requirements/configuration management systems.



  • Experience with airworthiness certification, flight test integration, or structural/mechanical systems design.




Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $77,571.36-$155,142.72 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
