Job Description
Elwyn seeks a Financial Reporting Analyst to play a vital role in supporting Elwyn's mission through timely and accurate financial reporting, data analysis, and insight generation. This role collaborates cross-functionally with departments to ensure financial transparency, compliance with funding requirements, and informed decision-making. The analyst helps build tools, reports, and dashboards that improve visibility into the organization's performance across a diverse portfolio of services and programs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Using generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the financial reporting analyst is responsible for performing assigned task within the following functional areas: Audits, Tax Reporting, & Examinations:
- Support the preparation of Elwyn's annual audited financial statements, working closely with the external audit team to provide schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Coordinate and maintain the audit PBC (Prepared By Client) list, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required support across all departments.
- Assist with the annual Form 990 and related tax filings by compiling financial data, reviewing draft filings, and collaborating with external tax advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile and document restricted net assets, grant activity, and other key balances required for audit and 990 reporting.
- Ensure alignment between internal financial reporting and external financial disclosures, including footnotes, program service statements, and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to review trial balances, general ledger detail, and year-end adjustments for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of SEFA (Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards) and support the Single Audit process, including tracking of grant funds and compliance requirements.
- Maintain organized audit documentation and improve the structure of financial support files year over year to support audit efficiency.
- Support internal financial controls testing and assist in process improvements to strengthen audit readiness and compliance.
Other:
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and/or participating in professional organizations
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Two (2) years of general accounting experience
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and account reconciliation experience
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or problem areas and implement effective actions
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must possess excellent collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
