Our Nuclear Safety organization is seeking a dynamic Nuclear Safety Engineer/Analyst who has the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to develop, implement, and maintain high-quality, compliant safety basis documents. Our mission is to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training to ensure Nuclear Safety policies and programs are developed and implemented in accordance with 10CFR830, Subpart B, Safety Basis Requirements and implementing DOE Orders. Under limited supervision, as a Nuclear Safety Engineer (Intermediate), your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Using your discretion and independent judgment to create safety bases documents, which comply with 10 CFR 830, DOE Standards, and CPCCo procedures.

* Developing and maintaining nuclear safety documents including Documented Safety Analyses, Technical Safety Requirements, Hazard Analysis and Control Decision Documents.

* Interfacing with senior management and DOE Richland Operations (RL) to resolve cross cutting nuclear safety issues.

* Conducting daily to weekly written and verbal communication with CPCCo Engineering, RL, Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, Senior Management and DOE-HQ staff.

* Negotiate nuclear safety control strategies with our stakeholders and present logical, persuasive arguments.

* Perform hazard analysis, accident analysis, or development of nuclear safety documents under 10 CFR 830.

* Perform hazards and accident analysis in accordance with DOE-STD-3009, DOE-HDBK-3010, DOE-STD-1120, DOE-STD-5506, and DOE-STD-1189.

* Working Knowledge of 10 CFR 830, DOE-STD-3009, DOE-STD-1120, DOE-STD-1189 and Unreviewed Safety Question requirements.


Basic Qualifications


* Career Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience.

* Career Level Grade 20: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 10 or more years of relevant experience.

* Career Level Grade 21: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with 12 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.


Desired Qualifications


* Professional Engineering (PE) License.

* Experience in nuclear industry, such as commercial or military nuclear power.

* Experience performing unreviewed safety questions.

* Previously qualified as a Nuclear Safety Engineer or Nuclear Safety Analyst.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

* Career Level Grade 19: $101,950 - $163,050.

* Career Level Grade 20: $112,250 - $179,500.

* Career Level Grade 21: $123,500 - $197,650.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact.
