DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this essential position, you will oversee highway maintenance operations within a designated area of the Beaver County Maintenance Organization. Your responsibilities will include serving as the Assistant County Maintenance Manager in addition to developing programs, estimates, and plans for various maintenance operations, including surface treatment, surface patching, aggregate stockpiling, snow removal and more. You will provide direct supervision to general and specialized maintenance crews in the performance of highway and bridge maintenance activities and minor construction projects. Work involves developing, negotiating, monitoring, and evaluating agility agreements for an assigned area to ensure services are being exchanged in a fair and equitable manner. Communication is key as you will meet with representatives from local government and public service organizations to discuss projects and to develop work priorities. You will have the opportunity to plan, assign, prioritize, and evaluate work of subordinates, interview and select employees, determine training needs, and resolve problems. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Schedule subject to change due to weather, seasonally, and/or due to operational needs.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on an ad-hoc basis, per manager's approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Rochester.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
