DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Hunter Access Program Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the administration of the Hunter Access Program while collaborating with agency staff, engaging with landowners across the region, and contributing to key initiatives like the Certified Hunter Program. Work involves conducting site visits with landowners, providing demonstrations to the public, as well as assisting with annual seedling orders. You will also have the opportunity to provide essential support to the Certified Hunter Program Coordinator. Additional responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the resource account
- Gathering and recording data in order to enroll landowners into the program
- Compiling reports
- Providing outreach to hunters and private landowners within the Northeast region

- Note: the reporting work location is located in Luzerne County; however, work will cover all counties within the Northeast Region.
- Temporary, full-time employment (2-year limited term), 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Due to operational reasons, work schedule may change in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Overtime may be required.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid driver's license.
- You must have experience and be comfortable conducting field visits and interacting with landowners to gather property information.
- You must have experience using GIS software (such as ArcPro, ArcMap, or Google Earth) to view or edit maps or spatial data.
- You must have experience with and be comfortable using computers and mobile devices for data entry, reporting, and communication tasks.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Familiarity with the purpose of the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Hunter Access Program
- Experience communicating with the public through work, school, or volunteer activities (includes face-to-face, phone, or email communications)
- Currently hold, or have ever held, a valid hunting and/or trapping license
- Experience working with or in Pennsylvania's farming community
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
