Overview Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. The part-time, temporary Research Assistant (approximately 10 hours per week) will work under the supervision of Principal Investigators Heather Greenlee, ND, PhD (Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center) and Amanda Fretts, PhD (University of Washington School of Public Health) to assist in the coordination of activities for an Andy Hill CARE fund-supported project. The research is to work in partnership with American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities throughout WA state (both rural and urban) to identify existing tribal resources and programs and develop and/or tailor existing nutrition education resources focused on cancer prevention and survivorship for AI/AN in WA. This position may be extended dependent on funding. The Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day research activities to develop and implement the study, including developing data collection instruments, collecting and managing data, helping investigators interpret data, and disseminating results. The position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. The candidate who fills this position will work closely with several research team members and community partners to coordinate and support the project. The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $48.09 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
