ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Job Summary
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for general maintenance, upkeep, and functionality of the campus facilities. This position is also responsible for maintaining contract building maintenance services and Facility Technician staff. This role is important for maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient building environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all safety standards and building codes are met and respond to security and safety issues.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance tasks such as painting, flooring repair, carpentry, plastering, and drywall repair to ensure buildings and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Repairs: General building maintenance, repairs and upgrades, and ensures optional functionality of all critical building systems including but not limited to:
- All building structures
- HVAC systems
- Utility systems (water, sewer, electricity)
- Storm water systems
- Process Water Systems
- Vendor Services Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for contract facilities services (HVAC, Security, Janitorial, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Safety, Landlord, etc.). Includes:
- Communication with vendors
- Ensuring timely completion of contracted work/services
- Coordination of vendor representatives while on-campus
- Monitoring and controlling related costs
- Supervision: Provide daily guidance and priorities to Facilities Technician personnel.
- Maintenance Requests: Respond in a timely manner to maintenance requests and maintain the on-line database of requests. Requests may be initiated through the Facilities Ticket portal, verbally, or via electronic communication (e-mail, Teams, text).
- Special Projects: Provide support for campus projects that require Facilities involvement (i.e. additional/relocated electrical service, internal equipment moves, townhall meetings, etc.).
- Budget: Works with manager to monitor and control costs and provides input for cost optimization.
- Compliance: Supports environmental requirements, permitting, and reporting.
- Analyze preventive maintenance plans and repair cost history to identify areas for improvement.
- Plan and execute additional projects as assigned by SCM Manager.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years related building maintenance experience required. Related Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school will be considered in lieu of years of experience
Preferred Skills:
- Able to work at a steady pace for up to ten hours per day.
- Detail Oriented
