The Midstream Facilities Technologist supports the Midstream engineering team through data gathering, analysis and reporting. This role creates and supports projects involving data retrieval, preparation, processing, manipulation and evaluation. The role assists in optimizing operational performance while maintaining system-wide equipment integrity as well as environmental and safety standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop methods to standardize both static and real-time data acquisition, reporting, integration, and visualizations for the Midstream Operations Teams

  • Focus on continual improvement of current BI processes and capabilities, including the integration of new business solutions into existing business processes

  • Use advanced data management & analytics tools to retrieve and prepare integrated datasets. (Ex. WellView, Actenum, Prodview, Snowflake, Power BI, BIDW, TOW, OSIsoft PI system tools, and Spotfire)

  • Play integral role in supporting the Midstream Operations team in troubleshooting data quality related issues to Midstream Operations reporting and software.

  • Work closely with technicians and field personnel to correct data problems, promote best practices and reporting concepts

  • Work under limited supervision to perform complex assignments such as maintaining files, performing calculations, and gathering/tabulating data

  • Prioritize and complete complex, concurrent projects aligned with team/division goals, following project management standards, and demonstrating organizational consistency.

  • Apply an understanding of terminology, applications, and standard procedures for performing the engineering technician job function.

  • Mentor employees, providing technical training and support, while demonstrating extensive technical knowledge and originality in devising solutions to complex business and technical issues in production.

  • Champion data quality efforts, creating sustainable reports, and recommending innovative solutions, and demonstrating acumen through extensive knowledge of operational principles, industry practices, and standards.

  • Work with engineers and more senior engineering technologists to apply intermediate and advanced skills in the application of relevant software packages.

  • Lead report generation based on standard procedures and coordination of data retrieval, collection, loading, manipulation, and management, while working with other teams, disciplines or departments, as required.

Experience

Requires a minimum of five years of experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry as a Technologist or Data Analyst, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Production, Facilities, Infrastructure or Midstream. Must have experience in Spotfire or other BI tools, WellView and other Peloton software.

Education* Bachelor's Degree and/or commensurate work experience is required.
