Job Description:


  • Perform assigned routine maintenance on courses and learning components in a variety of learning modalities.
  • Partner with Sr. Instructional Designer (SID) and clients to conceptualize training design and content.
  • Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content, and assessments.
  • Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained.
  • Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, interactions, simulations. Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
  • Conduct virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and support answer validation meetings.
  • Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback.
  • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks.


Required Skills:


  • 3+ years' experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience developing training for the utility industry.
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • Strong knowledge of the ADDIE model, adult learning theory, and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Articulate.
  • Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed.


Highly Desired:


  • Knowledge of Questionmark, Author-it, Honeycomb, learning portals.
  • Experience with technical training.
  • Comfortable and capable working on a High Performing Team.
  • Comfortable with working on a high-performing team with strong communication skills.
