Job Summary

This role is all about driving innovation and excellence! As the leader of our Mobile App and Website development efforts, you'll be at the forefront, guiding and empowering the development team to deliver top-notch software solutions. You'll collaborate with key departments-including Product Development, Hardware Engineering, Customer Service, Marketing, and more-to bring our business visions to life and hit every milestone with precision.

As a Development Manager, you'll champion the theme of quality across the organization, ensuring that quality standards are not just met but continuously elevated. Your focus will be driving continuous improvement, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that every product and feature launch is a resounding success. Job Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Support and mentor engineers through individual goal setting, professional development, and continuous coaching. Help develop and enhance the skills of your team members, guiding them to improve and deliver high-quality software.
  • Team Development & Hiring: Work collaboratively with peers to recruit and hire exceptional engineers (iOS, Android, web, backend) and managers for both engineering and product organizations. Build and nurture strong, creative, and effective teams that thrive together.
  • Software Development & Quality: Lead your team in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Ensure the delivery of maintainable, high-quality, customer-focused products. Champion the use of development best practices and monitor quality metrics to ensure team performance is consistently at a high standard.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Foster a culture of collaboration across functional teams and ensure effective communication within your team and across engineering. Build strong relationships with Product, Product Design, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and roadmap. Coordinate and communicate across teams to drive the successful completion of projects.
  • Project Management: Manage dependencies between teams and lead multiple projects simultaneously. Balance ambitious goals with realistic timelines and ensure the team is progressing towards business objectives.
  • Performance & Process Improvement: Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and ensure they possess the necessary skills and behaviors to perform their tasks effectively. Identify areas for improvement and empower team members to address quality gaps. Document and enforce quality improvement processes across the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively define, track, and drive continuous improvement of software quality and development practices within the team. Facilitate learning and empower team members to adopt improvements that elevate the team's overall performance.

Player-Coach Role: As a player-coach, you will actively participate in the design, build, test, deployment, maintenance, and support of mobile projects, all while guiding and developing your team.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field (or equivalent years' work experience)
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience planning/executing technical teams to deliver mission critical project
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in following:
      • C#
      • SQL Server
      • Knowledge of common design patterns (Inversion of Control, Dependency Injection, etc.)
  • Has hands on experience with:
      • Source control
      • Azure DevOps
      • Unit Testing

  • Must possess a strong desire and clear understanding for high customer satisfaction
