This position requires a high level of passion and skill in as you help to improve the organic traffic for the newly launched FoxOne website. We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking SEO & AEO Strategist to drive discoverability across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered platforms for FoxOne. In this role, you'll lead end-to-end SEO strategy development and execution, with a focus on national growth, hyperlocal relevance, and AI-enhanced visibility. You will partner closely with editorial, product, data, and engineering teams to deliver measurable organic performance and uphold technical SEO/AEO excellence.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a unified SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) strategy across Google, Bing, and generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity).
  • Conduct keyword research and competitive audits, balancing traditional SEO search intents with natural language query patterns.
  • Structure and optimize content into LLM-friendly formats: FAQs, How-Tos, and Q&A blocks; A/B test schema implementations (FAQ, HowTo) to maximize AI inclusion.
  • Monitor site performance using GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Datadog, and other internal dashboards; diagnose and resolve technical SEO issues.
  • Optimize all on-page elements: metadata, header tags, internal linking, images, and city-level landing pages for hyperlocal visibility.
  • Provide clear documentation and regular reporting on KPIs, technical health, and the business impact of AEO/SEO-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Champion SEO and AEO best practices across FoxOne; provide training and support for product, editorial, and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with the central Fox AEO/SEO team and key stakeholders to align on shared objectives and leverage global insights.
  • Build and prioritize a clear optimization roadmap, track performance, and recommend initiatives based on impact and opportunity.
  • Ensure Google feeds are functioning optimally and driving qualified traffic.
  • Stay informed about search engine algorithm updates, emerging trends in zero-click search, and the shifting role of AI in search.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in a video-first or media environment.
  • Proven track record driving organic growth and technical SEO success at scale.
  • Strong understanding of AEO principles and how LLMs surface structured content.
  • Experience working with or optimizing for generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity.
  • Proficiency with key SEO tools: Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Schema Validator, Mobile Friendliness tools, Datadog, etc.
  • Strong grasp of core SEO concepts: on-page, off-page, indexing, crawling, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, and Google algorithm updates (Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, vlookups) and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator; able to influence stakeholders across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-137,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
