STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Transportation Engineering Co-op Student to join our Transportation team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 4 days a week in the office. This position is a great opportunity for a student interested in design work to learn local standards and best practices and get familiar with our region's clients. STV's ideal candidate is someone who is excited to learn, wants to gain experience in design, and would enjoy working in an office with a group of engineers with diverse backgrounds, areas of expertise, and experience levels. Required:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or structural engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Open Roads and/or MicroStation software.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing engineering plans and design calculations across multiple disciplines of civil engineering, including bridges, roadways, stormwater management, traffic control, and more.
  • Work on projects ranging from small to large and at various stages of the design process.
  • Assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications using MicroStation or Open Roads.
  • Designer for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Work under the direction of a project manager or a senior engineer, and being asked to collaborate with the design team to solve a problem.
  • Format reports and specifications to support project documentation.
  • Support file management of project electronic documents, including printing and scanning as required.
  • Gain practical experience and broad exposure to STV's organizational structure through diverse assignments.
  • Utilize company-wide and department-specific software to complete various tasks.
  • Engage in specific activities tailored to your assignments, contributing to project success.

Compensation Range:

$40,874.00 - $54,498.00
