Materials Inspector

Advantage Technical is seeking a detail-oriented Material Inspector to join a cutting-edge manufacturing team in Newburyport, MA. Pay Rate: $22.00+/hour plus 2nd shift differential

Shift: Monday - Friday | 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

As a Material Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and preparing microelectronic components for assembly. You'll work under defined quality standards-such as Military and JEDEC-ensuring products meet strict criteria before they move into production. This role also includes inventory handling, documentation, and cross-training support.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect die, wafers, caps, bases, lead frames, and other parts under high and low power microscopes
• Follow Military and JEDEC standards and documented inspection specifications
• Use hand tools to carefully process fragile parts without causing damage
• Perform inventory tasks, including kitting, stocking, issuing, and data entry in SAP
• Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas
• Use computer-based systems for inventory tracking and manufacturing processes
• Support team by training others on inspection processes and standards
• Operate light machinery as needed

What You'll Need to Succeed

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience with microscope inspection (low/high power)
• Familiarity with SAP or other inventory management systems
• Background in kitting, assembly, or inventory control is highly desirable
• Basic computer and counting skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Effective verbal communication and team collaboration skills
