Overview

The section is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Specialist to join our team, working under the guidance of the Section Manager, to oversee the data analysis and business intelligence reporting for the Construction organization. In this role, you will collaborate with internal customers, work with cross function business partners, and partner with internal teams to assess requirements for business intelligence reporting, planning and documenting the development criteria, designing/editing/improving databases queries, testing and validating query results in preparation of creating and maintaining the business intelligence reporting. This individual will provide data analysis and oversee the report creation as a point of contact for customer inquiries or issues. This position will need to ensure the effective communication of accurate and quality controlled reporting while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. The individual should be focused on driving excellence, innovation in customer support, data accuracy, developing reporting, and providing insight about the data.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Report Development: Create, review, test, publish and validate new business intelligence reports and enhancements to existing reports. Write business requirement documents, coordinate user acceptance, ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Data Management: Identify, map, and analyze database schemas. Write/edit structured query language (SQL), troubleshoot technical problems, and develop Microsoft Power BI reports and Power BI workspaces.
  • Data Governance: Establish standards to manage and safeguard Constructions reporting through change management, audit ability, data quality and accountability. Apply these standards across the team.
  • Reporting Standards: Standardize workbook templates, adhere to corporate affairs standards, ensure reporting best practices are shared across the team and create reporting parity across the Construction organization. Continuously seek process improvements and enhance reporting standards.
  • Data and Database Support: Support the design, testing, and approval of data tables when server or database changes or enhancements occur.
  • Work Tracking: Create and maintain the teams task schedule through prioritization of customer work requests, provide schedule updates, resolve technical issues within the team, and ensure organization timelines are attained.
  • Project Coordination: Gather requirements, ensure clear communication, implement timely solutions, coordinate across departments, monitor progress, and ensure data quality assurance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Make informed decisions based on data results and present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders. Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate on projects and assignments across the company with customers and colleagues.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with Construction procedures. Follow safe work practices in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support for the business. Interact with Company employees to address issues related to reporting and data.
  • Emergency Management: Participate in the Companys emergency management assignment as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of work experience or
  • Associate's Degree and 5 years of work experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Overall proficiency of structured query language (SQL), Microsoft Power BI and database schemas, required. Required
  • Expert in developing, implementing, testing, training, triaging, or upgrading business intelligence reporting and database schemas, required. Required
  • Expert in the Microsoft suite of programs and be able to learn and use other computer applications and systems utilized within Construction (i.e., Tableau, IBM Maximo, IBM FileNet, Oracle EBS, Smart App, SQL Developer and Oracle Developer, and Databases), required. Required
  • A minimum of 3 years related work experience in at least one of the following functional areas: Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related organization, preferred. Preferred
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in analyzing data using statistical tools and models, preferred. Preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, invoice payments and business processes, preferred. Preferred

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment.
