Position Summary
DarkStar Intelligence seeks a System Administrator SA3 to support IT system implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Key duties include managing IT infrastructure, providing day-to-day support, monitoring, and resolving issues for client/server/storage/network and mobile devices. The role also involves Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, escalation support, and status communication to agency management and customers. Additional responsibilities include managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, software installation, network configuration, and implementing system enhancements for improved reliability and performance. Ideal candidates will have expertise in UNIX and Windows environments, strong problem-solving skills, and help desk or escalation experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and all related processes.
  • Provide support for IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and more.
  • Handle Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Support the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Remain actively involved in the resolution process for dispatch system and hardware problems.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components, and implement operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Current Fullscope Polygraph.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I Certification or higher.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. An additional five (5) years of SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in supporting the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Expertise in Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Ability to manage the daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Proficiency in assisting users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Skilled in providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Capable of optimizing system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning.
  • In-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
  • Ability to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Active involvement in the resolution process for dispatch system and hardware problems.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems, installing/loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Support for designing systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
  • Understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Skill in analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
Salary Range
$209,000 - $242,000 per year
This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation or salary. When extending an offer, DarkStar Intelligence considers various factors, including (but not limited to) the job's responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market data alignment, applicable bargaining agreements (if any), and other relevant laws.
