Job Description

Our Danfoss Power Solutions plant in Easley is seeking to hire a 2nd shift Production Supervisor role. The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor manages and coordinates the material and personnel for second shift departments, ensuring safe, efficient operations and that all products meet or exceed our customer's expectations, as it relates to quality, on-time delivery, and cost.

Job Responsibilities

  • The hiring and training of production personnel to support the production requirements of the site
  • Planning required resources to meet current and future needs, including number of employees needed and skill sets required
  • Identification of inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, with follow up to drive resolution and correction
  • Driving continuous improvement in 5S, manufacturing efficiency, employee engagement and root cause problem solving
  • Participate in the promotion and implementation of the manufacturing strategies and activities.
  • Assisting in goal setting and achieving objectives for department. Focusing on continuous improvement for quality, delivery, and cost or productivity.
  • Initiate steps to create and support improvements in addition to collaborating with manufacturing team to secure required resources.
  • Report department metrics including safety, quality, delivery performance, and productivity.
  • Conduct weekly department meetings to ensure constant communication with employee's regarding area plans and activities.
  • Ensure quality issues and corrective actions are handled appropriately and according to procedure.
  • Ensure the appropriate documentation is adhered to and maintained properly. Including but not limited to routings, control and work instructions, ISO procedures, etc.
  • Guarantee that autonomous maintenance is being performed.
  • Supervise all department employees including conducting performance appraisals, administer policies in a consistent and fair manner, training and development, assist in hiring process, and corrective actions and discipline actions as necessary.

Background & Skills

Job Qualification Requirements:

AS and/or BS degree; and 2-5 years previous supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Other Job Qualification Requirements:



  • Experience with MRP and Kanban planning systems.
  • Understanding of ISO requirements.
  • Understanding of effective supervisory practices, positive reinforcement and coaching, and basic employment law. Ability to teach and train others effectively.
  • Possess good organization skills.


  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.



Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately high.
