DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position involves the careful maintenance of the Laurel Hill State Park Complex, which includes Laurel Hill, Kooser, and Laurel Ridge State Parks. The role requires ensuring that restrooms, buildings, and grounds are kept in pristine condition, alongside managing litter collection. Key responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, bathhouses, and cabins, while maintaining high standards for toilets, sinks, showers, floors, and walls. Additionally, park buildings require scrubbing, dusting, and polishing of floors, furniture, and fixtures. The replenishment of restroom supplies, disposal of waste paper, and emptying of garbage cans throughout the park are essential tasks, with new bags provided before waste is taken to the dumpster. A pickup truck or utility vehicle is utilized for transporting cleaning equipment, and minor repairs to buildings and equipment are either completed or reported to a supervisor. Litter collection occurs in roadways, around buildings, and grassy areas, while other duties include moving furniture, delivering supplies, and running errands. Seasonal tasks encompass snow shoveling, sweeping, cleaning walkways, mowing, and trimming grass. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2026.
  • Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
