Health & Safety Officer

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Health & Safety Officer for our Florham Park, NJ team.

This highly motivated individual will be responsible for the enforcement of the corporate Health, Safety & Environment ("HSE") program and providing safety oversight and support to construction operations. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with our clients and their team to provide a safe work environment while using independent judgment to resolve safety related issues.

This position reports to EH&S Director. This role is onsite in New York and New Jersey.

Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and procedures
• Identify and correct problems before they become hazards and report results to designated company representatives
• Apply federal and state-specific health and safety regulations
• Verify that workers and subcontractors are adhering to the Site Safety Management Plan, OSHA and all other regulations
• Train employees on health and safety related topics
• Provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail, empathy and professionalism
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and staff
• Ensure safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) is in good working condition.
• Ensure jobsite safety postings are up-dated.
• Maintain safety and health related records and documents.

Requirements:

• 2+ years' work experience in construction safety.
• Consulting experience a plus
• Computer skills - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• Working knowledge - fall protection, confined space, excavation, scaffolding
• Excellent Interpersonal skills to work successfully with a diverse range of people.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good verbal and written skills to communicate effectively.
• Ability to resolve safety concerns on the project
• Understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, OSHA standards and EM 385 1-1
• Flexible days/hours to meet the needs of the project, if needed.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Certified OSHA 40hrs, 30hr and 10hr preferred
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
• Must have a reliable form of transportation

Preferred Requirements:

• CSP certification
• First Aid/CPR certified
