Position Overview:

Software Tester evaluates software applications to identify and report defects, ensuring they meet quality and functionality standards. This role involves designing, executing and automating test cases, collaborating with development teams, and contributing to delivering reliable and user-friendly software products.

Responsibilities:

Design and execute manual test cases based on functional requirements.
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
Conduct thorough software testing, analyze data, write test cases and communicate with respective stakeholders.
Perform root cause analysis on defects found to identify and mitigate project risks.
Identify logs and track software defects to resolution.
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand product requirements.
Conduct regression and smoke testing to ensure application stability.
Create and maintain test documentation and reports.
Ensure compliance with best practices and testing standards.
Participate in code reviews and testing reviews.
Check software functionality on different operating systems, browsers and devices to ensure that the software is up to the standard and meets the users' needs.
Work with project engineers, business analysts and customer support teams to ensure software solutions meet our user expectations.
Conduct exploratory and usability testing to locate bugs before the software is introduced into production.
Execute comprehensive testing against the software, ensuring all features function as designed and intended.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of software testing methodologies and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), if necessary.
Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries to interact with databases for testing purposes.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing.
Proven experience in both manual and automated testing.
Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium, TestComplete and Cucumber
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Relevant software testing certifications include Certified Software Tester (CSTE), ISTQB Agile Tester Certification or Certified associate in software Testing (CAST).
Knowledge of test management tools Jira
Security and Performance testing knowledge is preferred.
MSSQL and MYSQL knowledge is required
