Overview

Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, Child & Adolescent Services, and a supervising LMHP or QMHP, the MHP will provide: diagnostic assessments (as allowed by law in IA and IL), treatment planning, and consultations to individuals, families, and/or groups identified as having psychiatric disorders. The MHP will develop treatment plans to include individualized, patient centered therapeutic modalities and interventions, coordinate treatment plans with other providers, and provide care coordination as indicated for patients. MHP may provide crisis evaluations as needed. The MHP is recognized as a Mental Health Professional as defined by code in the States of IA and IL.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and psycho-social assessments (as allowed by law in IA and IL).
  • Develop and implement patient centered, strengths-based, and trauma informed treatment plans.
  • Provided therapeutic interventions to support patients and families both emotionally and behaviorally across a variety of settings including: outpatient, inpatient, school based, and other community based settings.
  • Provide assessment and treatment for patients and families in crisis situations and emergencies as needed.
  • Provide therapeutic groups on a variety of wellness and mental and behavioral health topics.
  • Build relationships with patients and families to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.
  • Act as a liaison and resource between the community and patient; coordinate treatment goals with community agencies, primary care physicians, court system, and managed-care entities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of five years documented clinical experience in mental health or human services; or
  • An individual possessing a certficate of psychiatric rehabilitation from a DHS-approved program, plus a high school diploma or GED, plus two years' documented exeprience in providing mental health services; or
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in human services field.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certiciation within 6 months of hire.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 6 months of hire.
  • Obtain certification within 2 months of hire and re-certify annually according to the requirements set forth in the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services related to the Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Needs & Strengths (IM+CANS)

Experience:

  • Two years supervised experience in mental health or human services is preferred.
