Adjunct Gallery Assistant

Position Overview: Faculty at Concordia University, St. Paul work as members of an academic team of full and part-time colleagues to consistently deliver high-quality instruction to students. Faculty are expected to demonstrate innovation and excellence in course instruction, foster an atmosphere of active intellectual and creative engagement with students in and out of the classroom, and support the Christian mission of the university. With students at the center of the university's mission, delivering a high-quality student experience is a top priority of the Concordia learning community.

We are seeking a Gallery Assistant with strong organizational skills and knowledge of art exhibition standards to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to supervise assistants, possess good communication skills, and be proficient in online promotion and posting. A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is required, with teaching skills being a plus.

Program/College: Dept. of Fine and Performing Arts

Compensation: $10,000 per year

Course Instruction Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the planning and execution of gallery exhibitions
  • Supervise gallery assistants and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
  • Maintain gallery inventory and ensure artwork is properly displayed
  • Assist in the promotion of gallery events through online platforms
  • Collaborate with artists and curators to ensure exhibitions meet standards
  • Conduct tours and educational programs for visitors


Qualifications:


  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of art exhibition standards
  • Ability to supervise assistants
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in online promotion and posting
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • Teaching skills a plus
